Q – Can you tell me how the new Trinity compares to orher Akzentz hard gels in terms of workability, product consistency, leveling properties, etc. Will there be a pink available as well? (Marcia)

A – The Trinity is my personal new favorite! It is a little thinner than Enhance, but it self levels beautifully. Because it is a bit thinner, I tend to flash cure when sculpting with it or I apply it in thinner layers, however it goes on very smooth and almost seems lighter and less sticky than Enhance (hope that makes sense!)  The tacky layer is perfect when applying color directly over it – not too wet so the color grips nicely. And it is very strong. My plan is to try to do a quick tutorial soon to show how well it works.

I sculpted a set of nails on my nail-biter daughter last week for her Christmas ball and so far they are holding up excellent! I also felt like it took less time to apply than usual, and less finish filing. No lifting yet at all (which is rare because her nails are so small and flat she usually gets a bit of lifting within a week no matter what I use) I have been using it on myself for a few months and my nails have been stronger than ever as well.

I did ask about the pink, and it is possible there may be a translucent pink eventually, but it is doubtful that there will be a coverage pink because the opacity may interfere with the bonding properties (since it is a 1 step gel). 

As with any gel, I do recommend applying the first layer on the natural nail very thin and with pressure to rub it tint the nail for the best bond.
